Darwin's Mentor

Just published - a new book on John Stevens Henslow.

Cambridge University Press were kind enough to invite me to the book launch on the 19th of September. Max Walters was there (though not in good health) as was Anne Stow and a number of people in the Darwin / Henslow / Jenyns research world - thanks for a good evening everybody.

This is the first major biography of Henslow since Leonard Jenyns wrote one just after Henslow's death and draws on Jenyns' knowledge - plus a whole load of facts so well researched by Anne Stow. The book is well illustrated and packed with well referenced information and extensive reference sections at the end.

If you are a Darwin student - go out and buy it!
